Here I am, well past midnight - babysitting a bunch of scrapbooking ladies at our semi-annual Scrapbooking weekend event. This time, the event is taking place in Granby, at the Hotel Granbyen. The hall where the ladies scrap is big and roomy and the atmosphere is totally relaxed and, especially at this time of the night, rather quiet. Of course, only 17 ladies out of 81 are still scrapbooking - all the others have gone to bed - something I am really looking forward to doing soon.
I drove directly from work (job no. 1) to here (job no. 2) and I have been at my post since I arrived. Can't complain, I know that Claire & Marie have been working like crazy setting all this up while I was taking it easy (ya sure) at job no. 1. They will be up bright and early tomorrow morning, and hopefully I will be able to sleep in a little bit. I will do the noon to wee hours of the morning tomorrow.
Our weekends are a lot of work, but I feel that they are important - and most importantly, the ladies here are obviously having a great time. A lot of them were there at our last weekend event and it's fun to see them again. It's good for our business and good for our finances.
Too bad that I won't see Keith at all this weekend - I see him so rarely these days, and then I leave him for the entire weekend. Somehow, crawling into bed next to my sister just doesn't feel as good as snugling in next to my hubby. No offense, Claire, but I bet you feel the same way I do!
OK - there are now only 14 ladies left - and a couple are clearly getting ready to go. Hopefully they will all go to bed soon.
I wonder why you don't have a time limit?! It's just weird, letting people scrapbook into the wee hours of the morning.
ReplyDeleteWell, we have a 1 am time limit, and I prefer not having to kick them out since they are paying good money for their weekend event. I was out of there last night by 1:30 - not too bad.
