I couldn't help myself from shedding a few tears last night as I listened to President Elect Obama's victory speech. Tears of joy, pride, relief, and awe. If only Canada has such a charismatic leader....
There is something new in the air today - I think it is hope - hope for a better future for everyone. Whether we like it or not, the welfare of our neighbour to the south is crucial to our own welfare. I have yet to meet a Canadian who is not an Obama supporter.
Speaking of something in the air, one thing missing today is the musky skunk odour permeating my lungs and the atmosphere around me. The solution for removing the smell from the dogs' fur worked. I spent the evening last night washing everything in sight including the dogs' beds, and then bathing the dogs. Today, they are about as clean as they will ever be and we all smell and feel better. Keith is due to arrive today after being away for 5 days - he missed all the excitement - at least in person - I have been keeping him updated by telephone. I am really looking forward to a pleasant evening with him.
