Of course I ran...and it was a great run! Being an accountant in these trying times is truly not a fun job. Nobody seems to like the lackluster numbers that I present -the execs would prefer that I was wrong in my analysis and that by some miracle the month end is actually filled with good news. But I do my homework - I analyse and am able to explain all the variations in the financial statements and convince them that those ugly numbers are right. And this is not good news for the owners. So the atmosphere at work is caustic. Tempers are flaring - sales reps are blaming the production managers, production managers are blaming the workers, the workers are blaming the world, the owners are blaming the controller (that would be me). So yeah, I need to run and put on my ear plugs and listen to running music and disconnect. Did I mention that I had a lousy week?
On another note - it is Friday night after all, I am sitting with Keith at the dinner table - we each have our laptops and are playing around with it. Just a fun, relaxing time with a glass of wine - time to unwind. So nice to have Keith home! Too bad he's off again tomorrow! Oh well that is the nature of his job. At least he doesn't have to hand in lousy numbers.
