History in the making

Yesterday, the United States inaugurated their 44th President, and the world welcomed him with open arms. I was very conscious of witnessing a historic moment when I managed to stream the inauguration live on my laptop via CNN during lunch. Everyone working nearby crowded into my office to watch President Obama been sworn in. We all listened to his speech, although I lost a few listeners at that point since they do not speak any English, and I was not willing to translate on the spot - I wanted to hear it without distraction. This morning, the newspaper was full of President Obama facts and pictures - I will have plenty to read when I get home from work.

Leaving early in the morning really works. I get to work much earlier, and get to beat the bulk of the traffic into Montreal. Now, if only I can remember to leave earlier at the end of the day too....
