Man - it's bad outside

My oh my - the wind out there is howling and the ice pellets are pounding at the window - it feels just like the ice storm of 1998. I am so glad to be inside basked by the glow of my computer...

We ventured out to do a big grocery this afternoon, before it got this bad, and I was glad that we weren't going any further than the local grocery store. At least - if we run out of electricity, we are covered for food, water, batteries, and we have a wood burning stove for an alternate source of heating. I hope it doesn't come to that - I hate power failures - but I wouldn't be surprised, it is really bad out there, and this is worse than the snow that was predicted - this is freezing pellets mixed with freezing rain. The windows are covered in a sheet of ice - and I am afraid that the electrical wires are too - that's what cause the blackouts 10 years ago.

On a lighter note - I finally got back on track with my running. Since my whooping cough - which lasted over 6 weeks, I was unable to run. I attempted twice with the result of worsening my condition dramatically - so I cut out the running until I got better. Today, I did a good 30 minute run, and no coughing ensued. I am back on track! Thank goodness for my treadmill - I would never attempt this outside in this weather.

Tonight - if the power stays on - it's cocooning in front of the TV time. Bring on the popcorn!
