The Ides of March

We went to a funeral yesterday. Most appropriate for the Ides of March. Driving to Sherbrooke, we got hit with snow, sleet, freezing rain, rain, ice pellets - the works - and the skys were dark and grey and ominous looking. The temperature was mild - around zero - but the dampness really sank in. The big Catholic church where they had the homily for my departed uncle was cold and damp - and despite my warm winter coat (which I kept on during the whole ceremony) I felt chilled to the bone. Not a bright outlook - but fear not - things got better afterwards. We stopped in at my Dad's condo after the funeral and discussed wedding plans. The wedding is next week and we are all looking forward to it. Fernande is a bit nervous - but my Dad said he is very happy. It will be a nice- big - family get together!

My cousin pointed out how lucky I was yesterday - He was burying his Dad while I'm getting ready to go to my Dad's wedding (both our Dads are around the same age). Yes, he is so right! I am lucky - and my Dad too!
