Wedding plans....

Boy, am I ever ready for spring! It's just one cold day after another - the winter wonderland look is starting to wear thin on me. At least I get a little reprieve next weekend when I go to CHA in LA for 6 days. It's not tropical weather at this time of the year in Los Angeles, but it's warmer than here (about 12-15 degrees c.)- and that's good enough for me!

This past Sunday was interesting - my siblings and I all met at my sister Louise's home in Sherbrooke to prepare for my father's upcommin wedding at Easter. At first, my dad wanted a very small wedding - but who was he kidding? He has 9 children - all of them married, 23 grandchildren (most of the married also) and 23 great grandchildren. And that's not counting his own brothers and sisters, who he wanted to invite also. And then, what about the lovely bride to be??? She has children too (5 of them) and brothers and sisters that she wants to invite. So this private intimate little wedding is turning out to have over 100 very close relatives invitees. We decided that the grandkids would have to get babysitters for all their children under the age of 7 since there are too many of them. This shortened the list somewhat - but mostly will make the event easier to manage. We decided to treat the event as we would a great big family party. Should be fun!

I guess if there was a moral to this story it would be: If you want a small, intimate wedding in the twilight of your years - either elope or do not have so many children. After all - you can't invite some of your kids and leave out others - it's everyone or no one! I'm glad my dad opted for everyone!
