What am I reading?

I have spent the last couple of evenings wrapped up in my nice big blanket (hand made for me years ago by my friend Cathy) and totally immersed in the fantasy world of the Golden Compass. I am on book 3 and still fascinated - I will probably fall asleep with the book by my side again. There is a lot of discussion going on about that book since they made the movie (I have not seen the movie - there is no cinemas in Farnham, and the one in Granby shows only French movies) and the movie was even banned in some places. Of course, that is what got me interested in the book in the first place - and I am sure that it is the same for a lot of people. I fail to understand still why it should be banned. It's a fantasy novel!! Sure, the premise is totally original, but this book does not in any way shape or form pretend that it is nothing but a work of fiction (and a good one at that).

Thank you Keith for buying the books (which you are also now reading) because they are great - especially when you are recovering from Bronchitis and need some quiet blanky time after a hairy work day.

By the way, for those of you who have read the book or have seen the movie - you can find out who is your personnal Daemon by going on line at http://www.goldencompassmovie.com/.

Take a guess at what my Daemon is.....
