Breathe in, breathe out, move on.....

Four and a half years ago, David came back from Vancouver where he had been living for 11 years, and moved back in with us for a few weeks while getting his feet back on the ground. Three years ago, his brother Patrick moved back home temporarily while looking for work.  It's been fun, they helped us, we helped them, but there comes a time when you have to move on. Saturday morning, Keith & I sat down with both our sons and told them that they had 6 months to find a new place to live. We didn't know what to expect, they have had it pretty easy paying minimal rent and enjoying all the benefits of living in a nice home, including high speed internet, cable TV, and laundry services.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well they took the news, I guess they had been expecting this for a while.  By Sunday evening, both were making plans for their new apartment - they will remain in Farnham and share a small appartment.  This will be one move that I will enjoy helping out with.  Having my sons live nearby is great, having my sons move out of MY house, priceless.

  1. This is big news! You might want them to move back in with you in, say, 30 years from now. But until then, you'll have the place to yourself on weekends! (No more built-in gardener, though. But extra guest rooms!)

If they need any furniture, let me know. I have a couch (fold-down) and a groovy black/chrome chair that are looking for a new home.
