A relaxing weekend

Amazing how easy it is to take a simple weekend for granted. I haven't had 2 days off in a row for over 4 months and so it felt like a holiday! Saturday was totally relaxed - late breakfast, crossword (2 of them) and lots of coffee. Then a grocery (we still have to eat). Keith decided not to pass up the opportunity to make strawberry jam with all the fresh berries for sale, so he spent the afternoon in the kitchen. Meanwhile, between loads of laundry, helping out in the kitchen here & there, and some gardening between rainfalls, the afternoon quickly became evening. A great movie from the movie channel (free!) that we hadn't yet seen, and bed - ahhh. Then Sunday, Keith took off for Ohio, but not until we had croissants with home made strawberry jam (yum!)and the sunny day just called for a clothesline full of laundry. I love hanging laundry out to dry - so I washed all the beds. I spent the afternoon in the garden - now weedless (until tomorrow anyway). I realize that I don't need a lot to be happy - this was a great weekend!
