RIP - M.J.

I wanted to write this blog the day Michael Jackson died. But, I found out about it late in the day, and have not had a minute to myself until now. I am sitting at my desk upstairs on a Saturday evening, while my significant other is watching Hellboy downstairs - I really can't get into these comic hero movies... not even Batman. Maybe because the only comics I read as a child were Archie comics.

But I digress.... I really wanted to talk about the gloved one. I know - he got real strange and real weird in the last part of his life, but boy, he could sing! And dance! You got to give him that... You know, MJ & I had a lot in common, surprisingly enough - don't believe me?

Here's a list of things I have in common with Micheal Jackson:

1. We both share the same birthday - August 29
2. We are both in our fifties ( Ok so maybe I am a year or so older)
3. MJ was the 7th child in his family, I am the 7th child in my family
4. MJ came from a very religeous family - ditto here
5. MJ wore make up - Me too! (although not as much as he did)
6. When MJ sang "Beat It", fans screamed for more! Whenever I sing, everyone around me screams "Beat it!"
7. MJ had a big ranch called Neverland where he never wanted to grow up and lived with a chimp called Bubbles - I have a big house where I live with Grumpy and from where my 30 something year old kids never want to leave... close enough!
8. MJ might have had a lot of cosmetic surgeries, but he never had a boob job done - neither did I!!
9. MJ loved the color red - he wore it often - so do I!
10. And finally, last but not least, MJ was a human being (regardless of what anyone says) and so am I.

Micheal, you were part of my life growing up - I love watching your videos and your dance moves - may you never be forgotten. R.I.P.

  1. A most excellent tribute to probably one of the best performers of our time.
