A much deserved day off!

I just love June 24th! It is Québec's national holiday and everything is closed - and everyone is sleeping in from partying late the night before. The temperature is hot, and all the windows are open in the house, but the outdoors is strangely quiet, minus all that truck and car and lawnmower activity that you would normally hear on a regular week day. I wisely decided to what most Quebecers do on a day like this - nothing. Well, ok, almost nothing - I am blogging after all....

I plan on doing a little gardening, trying out the pool for the first time this season, and generally taking it easy. It's been a while and I am rusty at it ( taking it easy) but I'm sure I'll be able to cope. Tomorrow is a usual work day and I have tons to do, but for now --- ah que la vie est belle!

  1. I am reminded of an old Fleetwood Mac tune. Wasn't it "don't stop thinking about tomorrow, don't stop, it will soon be here" ? Do I remember the lyrics right? That is so completely at odds with how we are supposed to think! Live in the moment! And the moment is a gloriously sunny day off. Up here in Lachute, it's pretty quiet traffic-wise, too, except for the inevitable parade of touring bikes. They don't bother me - on the contrary, I want to be with them! Oh, well. Gonna go sit in the sun now. Bonne fête!
