Yesterday, we had our first snowstorm of the season. The roads in and out of Montreal were a mess! It took me 1/2 hour just to clean the 8 inches of snow off my car and then an hour to make it to my exit off the Eastern Township autoroute(it was a long 30 kilometre an hour drive - I had to follow the traffic). It was snowing like mad, visibility was null and I was worried about what would happen once I hit those smaller country roads. As soon as I turned south off the autoroute, it started to rain, and the snow disappeared- amazingly, by the time I got home, there was no snow, it was mild and raining. It felt like I had crossed into another country. This morning I woke up to a dark and rainy (more like freezing rain) scene outside. I left the house early - knowing that just 10 kilometres north the scenery was quite different. And it was! As soon as I approached the highway, I found myself in a winter wonderland - mounds of snow everywhere and it was snowing furiously. It still is! I'm glad I have good winter tires and 4 wheel drive.
So there it is, I work in "winter" and sleep in "autumn" - I wonder how long this will last...
We've been permanently in Winter since October!
