Frivolous and Serious

Today I went out and did something totally frivolous! I hadn't done that in months, and I don't even feel guilty about it (OK maybe just a little teensy, winsey guilty). I bought myself an iPod shuffle ($69.95 at Costco) to replace my dead iPod (RIP)that I killed dropping it once too many. This little gem is so tiny! It's about 1" square and weighs absolutely nothing. It's really just a clip that plays music! Now I can't wait for my foot to be healed well enough to get back into my running routine - the last few weeks I had to run without music, somehow, it's not the same.

I also bought a "serious" agenda - my ribboned and scrapbooked "scrapbooking agenda" (as shown in picture) really looked out of place in my new office. I love agendas! Especially new agendas. It's like a blank slate in front of me, ready to be filled with new to do lists, new deadlines, new appointments, new goals. My solid black leather Daytimer agenda has no ribbons, flowers, or shiny things on it, it is the agenda of an accountant - one that is ready for any serious bean counting activity!

One thing that I do realise is that until recently, I was having so much fun with La Scrapbookerie, it didn't feel like work. This new job is great, but it does feel like work - serious work - something I still have to get used to.
