After 4 years of jeans and casual clothing, I bit the bullet and went shopping for an "interview suit". Well - 2 interview suits (in case that the first interview generates a second one, don't want to wear the same suit!). OK - new outfit purchased, now let's get on with those high paying job interviews already!!!!
Actually, I had 2 of them today! I had 2 last week (getting good use out of those suits!) If this keeps up, I will be the one to chose where I want to work versus them choosing me. I am atually getting used to wearing heels and nylons and skirts again - after virtually giving them up.
Last weeks interviews were duds - The first one was a placement agency - and the second one didn't motivate me at all. I didn't like the company or the interviewer. There was something misleading about the interviewers approach that didn't feel right.
Today, my first interview went really well - I wouldn't mind at all working for this investment firm - I will see what they come up with... My second interview also went well, but the interviewer was a shrill sort of woman - very snappy and direct. The company president looked like he was falling asleep or comatose - I wasn't impressed with him at all. I used to think that I would be lucky to just get a job, any job, but now it is dawning on me that I can afford to be fussy about who I want to work for and that, my friends, is a great feeling.
So -- more interviews to come maybe - I have a couple more who have called me and seem interested... Time will tell....
Meanwhile, at the Scrapbookerie, life goes on.
