It was a lovely and very physical weekend! Physical in the purest of physical sense - raking the lawn, clearing up the branches from a felled tree, cleaning up the flower beds and opening up the pool - YES~!
We shocked the blackened pool water with enough chlorine to bleach a black cat platinum, and spent a couple of hours strenuously sweeping and cleaning up the final vestiges of winter. No rest for the wicked - we all pitched in - Keith David and I - the doggies running around offering encouragement with their happy wags (no barking though - just happy waggy little dogs).
To end a perfect day - sangria & a nice juicy steak on the bbq! Then we all crashed in front of our TV watching "I Am Legend" with Will Smith. Needless to say ...we all slept well..
Sunday - David had to go to work, but Keith & I continued the yard work. It was very satisfying! The crocus and daffodils are up, and all the trees are budding. I love spring! I have started using the clothes line - my resolution is to use the dryer as rarely as possible this summer - mother nature and my electricity bill will thank me!
As for the pool... well, the water really cold and is still in "shock" over the treatment we gave it on the weekend, but the filter is running and hopefully we will be able to jump in before too long. Can't wait!
