Dating in the autumn of your life....

The dating game for ''just past the middle age'' folks... Yikes that sounds almost down right creepy if you are young and in still in your twenties.   But just wait a while, my young ones, one day you'll have climbed that mountain and find yourselves thinking about dating in your later years and it won't sound creepy at all.

The thing is, while your body gradually ages, and wrinkles start showing up and your hair gets grey (or falls), your ''you''- that person you are as you are in the now, whatever age it may be, doesn't really age.  Sure ''wisdom and all that experience'' factor in, but not age.  Which means that if you fell in love easily and heavily when you where a teen, chances are the same thing will happen 30 - 40 years later.  The ''you'' inside hasn't changed! The same old patterns re-emerge, even if you haven't dated since Elvis was around!   You still get that fluttery feeling, you still say stupid things, you still make a fool of yourself, and you still end up feeling all giddy with excitement, dancing with yourself in the kitchen  like the ghost of  Michael Jackson.  And you still get rejected, you still get hurt, and you still feel like crap, just like you did when you were younger.  Dating in the autumn of your life is absolutely no different than it was in the spring.  If it was more painful than joyful, and not  that much fun then, chances are that it won't be that much fun now.  If the guys (or gals) that you fell for back then weren't the ones that fell for you, you can bet your bottom dollar the same thing will continue to happen no matter how many years between the last time you attempted the dating game and today.

But wait!  At one point  in your life you probably did succeed in finding a mate!  And it was good! So then,  do not despair my aging ''teen at heart''.  If it happened then, it will also happen now!  You may get your heart cracked or broken - but it will heal and you will find someone...trust me!

Yup!  I'll let you know when that happens....
