All right, I've been stuck in this loop where I start working on my blog during the few minutes that I have available during my lunch break, and then I end up flushing the whole thing due to lack of time. The problem is that I am trying to redo my blog template to something less wintry than my previous template. Those naked branches in the snow just didn't inspire me anymore. Anyway, for lack of time, I decided to break down and use a standard blogger template until I can set aside an hour or so to put in something that reflects me more.

On another note - my Hoya is in full bloom - over 20 flower clusters and when the sun sets, they emit a very icky sweet odor that fills the entire 1st floor of the house. It's not that bad, just very sweet. This plant is a member of the milkweed family, and is technically a rubber plant. It loves to climb and I have had it forever. Actually I have now many of them since I have used clippings to create new plants. I have one at work at the moment (it's not quite as happy as the one at home - no flowers) and 2 of them at home.

Today is absolutely gorgeous - I can only tell from the sun streaming through my window at work, but I plan on taking advantage of the weather when I go out for a run when I get home later this afternoon. There will be no overtime here for me!!!

  1. wow! nice plant. Our Hoya is tough a nails but nowhere near as productive and happy as yours!
Our house is not setup for a climbing plant, so this poor sap must survive in what it would probably term a slumlord plant hovel.
Maybe i'll give it some love and look at changing it's location.
    I'm jealous!
