Once again I had to completely re-image my computer because I was stupid enough to open a link that immediately infected it with a nasty virus. Strangely, I also lost my voice and developed a bad summer cold at the same time... kind of makes you wonder - doesn't it?
On another note, we had our yearly corn roast yesterday. The weather was perfect for it and we were prepared to have a blast with the entire extended family at the cottage, but... the menu turned out to be us! We were totally swarmed with voracious mosquitoes - the likes I have never seen before! The abnormally wet summer created a bumper crop of these mean little insects and they were hungry!. Despite every kind of bug repellent being used, from Deep Woods Off to Listerine and special "green" creams - we all got eaten alive - right through our jeans. I have mosquito bites in my back, on my rear end, my knees, arms, elbows, ears face - I am itching!!!! We all gave up and packed it in by 4pm - usually we hang around and have dinner together and end the evening with a campfire, but no one wanted to hang around for dusk. It will take a while for those welts to diminish - I am not sure I want to go to the cottage while the mosquitoes rule...
