Heading towards another milestone in my life...tomorrow is my last day as a 51 year old lady. THen I have to admit to myself and the rest of the world that I am all of 52 years old (but not yet - after tomorrow only). I don't plan anything big, but I am getting together with my friend Denise who is in town from Calgary for the weekend - so I am pretty sure that there will be some nice wine and lots of talking involved providing my voice doesn't disappear again (I am still fighting this awful cold...) Keith is away with Christine (his truck in aptly named Christine) and probably won't be back until Friday. He will be disapointed if I am not home on Friday night, but he is welcome to join us if he wishes.
Work is getting more and more interesting now that I am starting to understand the local jargon and getting to know my new co-workers. I am finding out a lot about publishing, but I know that there is so much more to learn! Last week, I attended my first book launch - by an author who works in our office! Of course, 95% of our books are children's books -but I realise that children's books are extremely important to the developement of a child - so everything is taken seriously. I have always loved books and reading - it seems natural that I would end up in a job that would be involved in the publishing of books. Maybe one day I will realise my lifelong dream of writing a book. Maybe - I have trouble as it is just maintaining this @(%*& blog - let alone writing a book. But you never know....
