Let it snow, let it snow...

Yesterday, I broke out the winter running gear since I woke up to a chilly minus 9C.  Winter coat, pants, long johns, double layer socks, new warm gloves, hat - I had a great run and never suffered the cold.

But today, it was winter that was out in full gear!  Cold yes, but with the added bonus of a bitter driving wind complete with ice pellets that really stung my face, 4 inches of unplowed snow to run through, and icy patches to challenge my balance here and there. Looks like winter has finally arrived, a little late maybe, but in full force. I didn't miss it, but it's all good.  I sure got a good workout running through that snow, and I although my outdoor runs will be much more dependent on the weather conditions (no running in freezing rain or on icy roads), I'll be running all winter.  I might as well get used to it, and today was a good start. (note to self - must get some kind of face cover hoody thingy)

  1. Alex has one of the face-hoodie-things. He can't wear it in the city because it makes him look like a terrorist or a bank robber. But something like that would be great for you! :)
